CSIR-CGCRI Project Associate-I Stipend Details

(i)	₹31,000/- + HRA p.m.	Candidates selected through: (a) CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Prof.) or GATE (b) National-level exams conducted by Central Government agencies

Educational Qualification	M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Photonics OR B.E./B.Tech. in Photonics, Optics & Opto-Electronics, Applied Optics, ECE, EIE, EEE, Mechanical, Radio Physics & Electronics
Desirable Qualification	Preference for 1st class degree holders and those with research experience in rare-earth doped optical fiber characterization and laser cavity building
Age Limit	Max 35 years as on 02.05.2025
Age Relaxation	SC/ST/PWD/Female – 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
Other Requirements	Candidates engaged in other projects must submit NOC from their current Project Leader

1. Is this a permanent position?	No, it is a temporary post under a DRDO-sponsored research project.
2. What is the duration of the project?	The tenure is 3 years, subject to project progress and performance.
3. What if I don’t have a NET/GATE qualification?	You can still apply, but you’ll be eligible for ₹25,000/- + HRA stipend only.
4. Can I apply if I am still awaiting my final semester results?	No, only candidates with final results and certificates are eligible.
5. Will the institute provide travel allowance (TA/DA) for attending the interview?	No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
6. Can I apply for this and other CGCRI posts simultaneously?	Yes, but you must send separate applications for each post/advt.
7. What documents do I need to carry?	Original and self-attested copies of educational certificates, ID proof, caste/age proof, thesis (if applicable).
8. What if I currently work under another project?	You must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current project leader.
