Pay Scale:

₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000 with applicable allowances.
After 1-year training, successful candidates will be absorbed as Officers in the same pay scale.

Educational Qualification:

  • Full-time four-year B.E. / B.Tech. degree with minimum 60% marks or First Class in respective discipline from an AICTE / Govt. recognized university.
  • Final year students awaiting final/consolidated mark sheet may also apply, but must provide proof during document verification.
  • Note: Dual/Combination degrees (e.g., Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering) are not eligible.

Upper Age Limit (as on 30.04.2025):

  • UR: 27 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (NCL): 3 years
    • PwD: 10 years
    • Ex-servicemen: service rendered in defense + 3 years
    • J&K Domicile (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 years
  • SC/ST candidates must have minimum 50% marks / Second Class in qualifying degree (if applying against reserved posts).

Selection Process:

Two-stage process:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – 85% weightage
  2. Personal Interview – 15% weightage

CBT Details:

  • Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes)
  • Type: Objective, Multiple Choice
  • Questions: 100 (based on relevant engineering subjects)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer
  • Language: English & Hindi
  • Cities for CBT: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata

Personal Interview:

  • Held in Hyderabad
  • Shortlisted candidates (in 1:4 ratio from CBT) will be called.
  • Document verification will be done on the same day before the interview.

Bond Requirement:

  • Selected candidates must sign a 4-year service bond on ₹100 stamp paper.
  • Bond Amount: ₹4,00,000 (Four Lakhs) in case of breach.

  • ₹1,000 for General / OBC (NCL) / EWS
  • Exempted for SC / ST / PwD / Ex-servicemen / ECIL regular employees (including Fixed Term Contract staff)

1. Who can apply for the ECIL Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) post?
Only candidates with a full-time 4-year Engineering degree in the specified disciplines (ECE, CSE, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, or Chemical) with first class or minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST) from an AICTE/Govt. recognized university are eligible. Final year students expecting their final results may also apply.

2. What is the selection process for the GET posts?
The selection will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Personal Interview.

  • CBT carries 85% weightage, and the Interview carries 15%.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 50% in each stage and 60% overall (relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
  • Candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:4 ratio for the interview based on CBT performance.

3. What is the application fee and who is exempted?

  • Application Fee: ₹1,000 (plus applicable bank charges) for General, EWS, and OBC candidates.
  • No fee for SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and ECIL regular employees (including fixed-term contracts).

4. Will selected candidates be required to sign any bond?
Yes. Selected candidates must sign a Surety & Indemnity Bond of ₹4,00,000 on a ₹100 non-judicial stamp paper to serve ECIL for a minimum period of 4 years.

5. Where will the CBT be conducted, and how to choose the center?
The CBT will be conducted in the following cities: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Kolkata.
Applicants can select their preferred center while filling the online application. However, final allotment will be at ECIL’s discretion, and requests for changes will not be entertained.
