Educational QualificationMBBS or MD (preferred) in Allopathic medicine from a recognized university
Experience (as of 01.04.2025)MBBS: Minimum 5 years as General Practitioner
MD: Minimum 3 years as General Practitioner
Age LimitMaximum 67 years as on April 01, 2025
Remuneration₹1,000 per hour
Conveyance Allowance₹2,000 per month
Compounding Fees (if applicable)₹1,000 per month
Leave Entitlement20 days per year
Contract Period3 years (initial) — reviewed annually, extendable up to 2 more years
Termination ClauseOne month’s notice on either side
  • Attend to ailments of staff, dependents, and pensioners
  • Prescribe and administer medications
  • Issue medical certificates and approve sick leave
  • Authorize purchase of special medicines via bank-approved chemists
  • Coordinate hospitalizations and review related medical bills
  • Provide emergency and teleconsultation support
  • Offer medical opinions for transfer cases on health grounds
  • Efficiently manage the dispensary assigned by the Bank

Q1: Is this a permanent job at IDBI Bank?
A1: No. This is a contractual position for a period of 3 years, extendable based on performance.

Q2: Can a doctor with BAMS or BHMS apply?
A2: No. Only candidates with an MBBS or MD degree from a recognized university in the Allopathic system are eligible.

Q3: Will I get any allowance for travel?
A3: Yes. A fixed conveyance allowance of ₹2,000 per month is provided.

Q4: Is there any interview process?
A4: Yes. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview by the Bank’s selection panel.

Q5: Do I need to send certificates along with the application?
A5: No. Only biodata needs to be sent initially. Certificates will be verified at the time of joining.

A6: No. However, you may arrange a substitute at your own cost with prior Bank approval.
