  • Age Limit: 18 to 35 years as of 13.10.2025. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules.
  • Initial Payment: All candidates must pay ₹750 online.
  • Refund: ₹500 will be refunded to General/OBC candidates after the written test. Full ₹750 will be refunded to SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen candidates.
  • Start Date for Online Application: 23rd September 2025 (09:30 AM)
  • Last Date for Online Application & Fee Payment: 13th October 2025 (05:00 PM)
  • Cut-off Date for All Eligibility Criteria: 13th October 2025

The selection is a two-stage process:

  1. Written Test (100 Marks):
    • Part-A (50 Marks): Objective type questions testing General Hindi and General English.
    • Part-B (50 Marks): Descriptive type questions, including translation of passages and expansion of thoughts.
    • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 60% (60 out of 100). Candidates can opt to take the exam in Hindi or English.
  2. Skill Test (Qualifying Nature):
    • Only candidates who qualify in the written test (in a 1:5 ratio) will be called.
    • It includes Precis Writing and Translation (Hindi to English and vice-versa).
    • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 60%. Marks obtained in the Skill Test are not added to the final merit.

Final Selection: Based purely on the marks obtained in the Written Test.

  5. Pay Fee: Pay the application fee of ₹750 online using Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
  6. Submit & Print: Review all details and submit the application. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

Q1: What is the salary for a Junior Translation Officer at ISRO?
Ans: The post is in Pay Level 6 of the 7th CPC, with a pay scale of ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400. The approximate starting monthly emolument is around ₹80,000, including Basic Pay, DA, HRA, and other allowances.

Ans: Yes. As per the notification, a Master’s degree in any subject (other than Hindi or English) with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects at the degree level makes you eligible, provided you also meet the translation diploma/experience requirement.

Q3: Is the Skill Test marks considered for the final merit list?
Ans: No. The Skill Test is of a ‘go-no-go’ qualifying nature. The final selection is based 100% on the marks obtained in the Written Test.
