The selection for RRB Para-Medical Recruitment 2025 is a streamlined, three-stage process:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): This is the first and primary screening stage.
    • Number of Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark.
    • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
    • Syllabus: The exam will cover four sections:
      • Professional Ability (70 questions): Subject-specific knowledge related to the applied post.
      • General Awareness (10 questions)
      • General Arithmetic, Intelligence & Reasoning (10 questions)
      • General Science (10 questions)
    • The marks will be normalized for exams held in multiple shifts.
  2. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on their CBT performance (in a ratio of 1:1 to the vacancies) will be called for document verification. They must produce all original certificates for educational qualification, age, caste, etc.
  3. Medical Examination: Finally, shortlisted candidates must undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the prescribed medical standards (B1, C1, or C2) for the specific post.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the CBT scores, and appointment will be subject to successful DV and medical fitness.

Q1: I am in my final year of D.Pharm. Can I apply for the Pharmacist post?
A: No. As clearly stated in the notification, candidates must already possess the prescribed educational qualification on or before the last date of application, i.e., September 8, 2025. Those awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

Q2: What is the difference between Medical Standards B1, C1, and C2?
A: These are vision-related medical standards used by Indian Railways.

  • B1: Suitable for technical staff. Requires good vision.
  • C1: Suitable for safety categories like drivers. Requires high visual acuity.
  • C2: Suitable for station masters and guards. Specific visual requirements.
Candidates must ensure they are medically fit for the standard prescribed for their chosen post.

Q3: Can I apply to more than one RRB or for more than one post?
A: No. You can choose only one RRB and indicate your preference for posts and railway zones under that RRB. Submitting multiple applications to different RRBs or the same RRB will lead to the rejection of all your applications.

Q4: Is there any free travel facility for the examination?
A: Yes. SC and ST candidates are entitled to a free sleeper class railway pass for travel to the exam centre (CBT), document verification, and medical examination. They must request this facility while filling out the application and produce their original caste certificate during travel.

Q5: What happens if I need to correct a mistake in my application?
A: A modification window will be open from September 11 to 20, 2025. You can correct most details (except those in the ‘Create an Account’ form and your chosen RRB) by paying a non-refundable modification fee of ₹250 for each occasion.
