A1. Yes, but only if your Ph.D. research domain is aligned with the project’s research area. You must obtain permission/NOC from the Director/Competent Authority of your institution and produce it at the time of interview.

Q2. What is the difference between Project Associate-I and Project Associate-II in this CSIR IMMT Recruitment 2026?
A2. Project Associate-I (PAT-I) requires a B.E./B.Tech. or M.Sc. degree with or without experience. Project Associate-II (PAT-II) requires additional experience (2 years) after the qualifying degree OR a higher qualification like M.E./M.Tech. The emoluments for PAT-II are higher (₹28,000/- + HRA) compared to PAT-I (₹25,000/- + HRA).

Q5. What is the maximum duration of engagement as project staff in this CSIR IMMT Recruitment 2026?
A5. The total period of engagement under one project and/or combination of different projects in CSIR laboratories cumulatively shall not exceed 6 years. However, for contract/consultancy/sponsored projects funded by PSUs, Industries, Start-ups, etc., of 12 months or less duration, the total period may extend up to 7 years.
